Eco-friendly Yorkshire Travel Website

Yorkshire's picturesque countryside is world-acclaimed for its beauty and diversity. But like many of England's most popular tourism destinations, the roads are groaning under the weight of cars and heavy vehicles.
A new website magazine, called Cheap-Escapes (http://www.cheap-escapes.com) is aiming to encourage people to see the beautiful English countryside without the car.
Editor of Cheap-Escapes Jacki Sweeting has been travelling with a photographer for the past two years to research travelling around Yorkshire by train, bus and on foot.
"We've found that you can pretty much travel anywhere without too much trouble," Ms Sweeting said.
"And, we're living proof that the idea works, as all of the work and business we've conducted has been done exclusively by public transport," she said.
The Cheap-Escapes concept has been welcomed by the Leeds-based Metro transport authority as an innovative idea and a good way to promote eco-friendly tourism.
Another advantage of the website is its ability to provide excellent information for tourists visiting the UK on a budget.
"So not only will tourists get to see some of the most beautiful countryside and historic attractions in the world, they will be doing so in an environmentally-friendly way, and be able to enjoy more on a small budget," Ms Sweeting said.
